Softengi, a global digital transformation partner that helps businesses and organizations drive innovation, will be implementing the human resources management information system (HRMIS) for the Ministry of Health of the Republic of the Gambia.

After the successful implementation of HRMIS in the Republic of the Gambia, more countries and organizations became interested in providing uniform approaches, mechanisms, and processes in personnel management, as well as enhancing control and transparency of accounting activities.

Oleksandr Kucheruk, Softengi’s Leading Business Analyst, has recently been on a business trip to the Republic of the Gambia to discuss the implementation of the HRMIS solution for the Ministry of Health. The main issue of the meeting was to coordinate and approve the system requirements.

After implementing HRMIS, the system of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Gambia will contain an up-to-date registry of employees, covering such crucial accounting and management processes:

  • Employee management (for state employees, technical staff, and employees of budget organizations);
  • Construction and modification of the organizational structure through a staffing schedule;
  • Maintenance of personnel records for individuals and employees;
  • Filling in vacant positions;
  • Timekeeping;
  • Payroll calculations;
  • Reporting;
  • Employee self-service portal;
  • Electronic employment records.

The main goal of implementing HRMIS in the Republic of the Gambia is to transition from disorganized HR processes and payroll management to a unified information environment with automated support of essential operations in human resources.

Objectives of the HRMIS system include:

  • Assisting budget organizations in conducting their operations, streamlining business functions, and supporting human resources management processes;
  • Achieving timeliness and accuracy in key functions, particularly in payroll calculations and human resources management;
  • Increasing transparency for the public and all stakeholders;
  • Providing a unified information environment for centralized HR processes;
  • Enhancing the efficiency of human resources and payroll management by ensuring timely and accessible information retrieval;
  • Automating report generation and providing technological support for data collection and reporting;
  • Reducing complex routine operations;
  • Improving the accuracy of information about employees of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of the Gambia by its storage centralization;
  • Reducing the time spent obtaining the necessary information for employees through self-service functions;
  • Creating an automated decision-making tool for key human resources management directions.

The project is sponsored by the World Bank.

About HRMIS

HRMIS integrates core HR functions like recruiting, onboarding, working time and attendance, payroll and benefits, training and professional growth, performance assessment, resource planning, and budgeting. As a flexible and scalable solution, HRMIS can keep up with any changes in the organizational structure or an increase in the number of users in order to keep maintenance costs under control.
