Beyond Salary: Redefining Software Engineer Compensation
Softengi’s CTO, Illia Gandzeichuk, discusses how AI token usage creates a paradigm shift in software engineering economics.

Client: Kindi is a telehealth PaaS that allows hospitals and healthcare facilities to connect with medical specialists remotely.

Challenge: Implement structured B2B healthcare collaboration with secure medical data exchange, provider assignment, request lifecycle management, and future integration with hospital infrastructure, including DICOM- and PACS-based workflows.

Solution: A telehealth marketplace and service platform that allows healthcare organizations to create, manage, assign, and process medical service requests.

Barriers in Connecting Specialists and Medical Data

Access to specialized medical expertise outside institutions is impeded by fragmented communication, manual coordination, limited access to specialists, difficulties in securely transferring medical documents and imaging studies, and a lack of a structured process for assigning, tracking, and completing medical consultation requests.

Medical imaging workflows are another issue, as hospitals usually store CT, MRI, X-ray, and other diagnostic images within internal PACS environments protected within the hospital network. Doctors work with diagnostic images through local hospital systems and do not manually download files to their computers, which makes a simple “file upload” approach insufficient for real clinical use.

Kindi B2B Telehealth PaaS: Use Case #7

The client’s vision was to create a secure digital environment where medical organizations can request and provide remote healthcare services, including second opinions, diagnostic support, medical reporting, translation, and specialist consultations.

B2B Telehealth Marketplace and Service Platform

Softengi’s solution for Kindi enables a hospital, clinic, or doctor to create a medical request, provide relevant case information, attach supporting documents or imaging, and route the case to an appropriate provider or specialist. Providers can review the request, accept or process the case, provide medical input, and return results through the platform.

Implementation

The Kindi platform’s architecture, authentication, hosting, and integration were designed to work as a web application and a healthcare-grade infrastructure component suitable for hospital environments operating within protected network perimeters, with strict requirements for security, access control, data privacy, audit logs, and controlled data exchange.

Kindi B2B Telehealth PaaS: Use Case #9

Another important challenge was the medical imaging workflow. Since hospitals store diagnostic images in PACS systems and use DICOM as the standard for medical imaging exchange, the platform needed a more realistic approach than basic file upload. Softengi developed a DICOM/PACS-related solution concept with a hospital-side component fostering secure and traceable transfer of imaging studies from the hospital environment to the Kindi platform.
